Care of Aboriginal Patients

  • Willam Ngarrang is our unit that our Aboriginal Health Liaison Officers (AHLOs) are part of. The AHLOs provide cultural support to First Nations patients (M-Th until 5pm, F-Sun until 9pm) - they can be paged on pg 980 or called on 0418 542 044. Nb: consent for referral preferred.

  • Please write “CLOSE THE GAP” on scripts so that medications are provided free of charge.

  • Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander patients are also prioritised for RAT review to help reduce the high rates of “left not seen”.
