Staff Support Services
The Ethos Program
Ethos is a hospital-wide cultural change program, developed to make sure staff and patients feel valued, welcome and safe
Ethos is designed to remove barriers to speaking up, and make it easier to report issues
If you witness behaviours you think should be rewarded, let the Ethos team know via an Ethos report so we can share and celebrate our role models
If you witness behaviour where staff or patients are not treated respectfully, the Ethos program gives you the skills to speak up. If you feel unable to do this, the program includes an online system for you to report your concerns
Ethos provides an informal early intervention to dysfunctional behaviour. Research shows people tend to be receptive to feedback from a colleague. When a report is made, a trained colleague will provide that feedback, giving the recipient a chance to reflect on their behaviour
For more information on the Ethos Program, to create an Ethos account, or to make a report, visit http://intranet/sites/infocentre/media/ethos/Pages/Ethos.aspx
