Limping

  • 14y/o male

    p/w NWB left leg

    PMH: fit & well

    Hx
    Left hip pain
    Progressively worse over months
    Seen LMO, advised muscular pain
    Not Refusing to walk
    No recent cough / fever

  • o/e looks well, obese
    Temp 36
    Left hip: generalized tenderness, normal RoM, tender throughout

  • Hip/Pelvis XR

  • Left ‘line of Klein’ does not interest the epiphysis
    Slipped upper femoral epiphysis (SUFE)

  • Analgesia
    NWB
    Admit for operative stabilization

  • Child with a Limp
